As an avid Kitaro fan: I try to share and upload any bootlegs or any rare media which might interest some people! Also, I am inspired by Kitaro since young and have therefore, I started collecting some synthesizers myself. Most of my synthesizer collection are what Kitaro himself uses. However, these discoveries also led me into the synth world and interest in electronic music. My curiosity for Kitaro's music led me to re-create some of his tracks. I am still learning in this process and probably will continue to put up content here! :)
Space Queen - Kitaro Short Cover
I was playing a community piano in Kitaro tunes and thought of playing 'Space Queen'. Here is a short cover with the miniKORG 700FS in melody with other instrumental sounds form the Kurzweil PX1000, and Bass, Korg 01/W.

A second demonstration on the expression volume pedal on 'As the Wind Blows' cover. This song is quite expressive on the Original, hence it was a good example of volume pedal control.
Kitaro - 'Silk Road' Example Volume Pedal Camera

I thought of doing a simple video demonstrating the volume pedal as an expressive tool in this Silk Road cover. I hope this sheds some light on one of the most important aspects of playing an analog synthesizer like any other acoustic instrument. To date, Kitaro has never stopped using volume pedals as part of his setup. Volume Pedal: Korg XVP-10 (Low Impedance)

Documenting same tuning issues with the 800DV. I believe there are not many videos on the internet demostrating the issues on the 800DV. Here, I demonstrate some tuning issues with the 800DV. Symptoms: Upper Voice has tuning issues on the lower register of the keyboard while on the upper register, the tuning is stable. Lower Voice has tuning issues on the upper register of the keyboard while on...

A Kitaro jamming session on 14th December 2023 with one of the only Kitaro fan I personally know in Singapore and has been a great buddy of mine since 2016. Here is one of our impromptu performance of 'Caravansary' without rehearsal during our jamming session. Through midway, we switched 'lead' roles, you will see the impromptu switching of sounds during the song.

Om 🎉 grande 🎉🎹🌟🎹👍
Coisa raro. Poderia colocar os nomes dos musicos?
awesome performance my friend!!
Thank you!
Great work as always! 👩🚀👑🪐💐
Thank you!
The sound is perfectly blended. Love the double notes. 💚👍I love hearing this back to back with the original.👌
Thank you! One of my favourite songs from Kitaro!
Any chance you would ever do a cover of Mountain Streams? That’s one of my favorite compositions ever from Kitaro.
بسیار عالی بود ممنون

Thank you for tuning in!
کیتارو یک هدیه بسیار ارزشمند از طرف آسمان به انسانها است.
🇯🇵♥️🎼 Beautiful 🎼♥️🇯🇵
Glad you enjoyed this cover! 🙏
Seems a little pricey for what it is much like my j. D x a. Berringer should have done this, in my opinion, probably would have done a better job. Hey, don't hate me. I'm just being honest here. Having an opinion doesn't seem like much at all overpriced. Garbage, like everything these days, not just cork. Roland yamaha all over priced adrino eighty dollar c p u garbage
It’s okay to disagree. Well it’s a mono synth with really limited parameters, it’s not for the most creative or adventurous sound seekers, but this guy does it’s job well with its intuitive and easy to use knobs and switches. Behringer can probably do something with more features and cost lesser, but it probably would never get Korg authentic brand name and heritage of the 700s. Personally, owning the 700FS is as close as it gets to owning a brand new 700s from Korg.
@ltpstan that was beautiful. Straight from the heart and true all money no brains . Hate me all you want but if you look into the korg pa series overpriced least support and confusing variants throughout the pa series line you would say they are crap. No support . Much like roland and yamaha .. all garbage .I'll stick with my jdxa . At least it's 4 voices of consistent analog garbage
@@garyburrows-nn8rg Well okay. Good luck!
@@ltpstan alllll righty then . Good luck to you as well .
Thank you for posting this. I was introduced to the music of Kitaro back in 1987/1988 by a co-worker who was into veganism, New Age stuff, asexuality and communism (no joke). I saw this video - I think - on PBS, and I remember the moments around @10:00 when Kitaro is frustrated by the attitude of the American musicians he was forced to take for the US tour. Stupid labor laws. Kitaro would have been far happier if he had been allowed to bring Japanese musicians. In the end, you know everybody "learned from each other and sank 'Kumbaya' at the very end". The 1980s were a difficult time to be Japanese. American superiority complex while Toyota and all other Japanese car makers were handing US automakers their asses....
I agree. You can also see the difference in philosophy in terms of music. Western music in general is complex and technical, or at least in Kitaro’s philosophy is rather simple and soulful to an extent.
Wow! Nice!
Wonderful!
Excellent.
🎉🎉. When you back to Chicago city again i saw your twice. 🎉🎉
Thanks for the upload. We like all songs in one video do that there's no buffering in between.
Thank you! Kitaro is a blessing❤
It’s cool to see him still performing live with his trusty old MiniKorg 700s.
That's from kitaro itself live in odaka 😊
Excellent! It would be great if Live In Budokan 1982 also had an enhanced version
Kitaro es el musico más fanático del planeta
Heck yeah this is something I always wanted to see.
Thank you! I was thinking that many would be curious to know how Kitaro might have sounded so expressive.
@@ltpstanEspecially in his (what I like to call) his golden era of the beginning of his solo career till about 87-90. Imo that was his best period, when it was mostly analog equipment as far as synthesizers. The music from the early 80s had a lot of volume control with the 700s and 800DV parts.
@@zechariahfrink3707Yes, I think Kitaro started using the volume pedals way back then in the 80s and 90s period. Though from 2000s onwards, I feel that the 700s has been more expressive too, especially in live concerts.
@@ltpstanI agree! I forgot to ask, what brand of volume pedal are you using? Looking to get one for my synthesizers for recording.
@@zechariahfrink3707 Hi Zach, I am using the Korg XVP10 expression/volume pedal. It is the same pedal to what Kitaro uses in the recent years.
Good job
Got this synth today. It's an absolute beauty. Easily the best monophonic synth I have ever played! This video was the one that convinced me to pull the trigger and I couldn't be more glad that I did. Thanks for this video!
Glad that you like the 700FS too!
😊
Maravilloso . Estaría muy bien poder disfrutar de tus interpretaciones en directo , sería genial oírte en un concierto con estos teclados .
Thank you friend, that is very generous! Maybe one day is part of my dream or wish to play in public with Kitaro songs at least once. But the time is not yet 😄
He must be a Shin-jin. ( God- man). In his padt lives he could be among the god of air, thunder, wind, sky and rain (fu jin, rai jin, etc). This lifetime he chose to incarnate as a human to bring the music of heavenly realm to our Earth ....thank you Kitaro. Thank you for this precious recording.
As a fan of Kitaro's since 1980, I'm surprised I've never heard of this COVID concert (one year after it was proclaimed a pandemic by WHO) transmitted LIVE here on YT until a couple of hours ago (yesterday, March 6, 2024, Peruvian time). I'm from the far south in Sweden, and was lucky enough to watch Kitaro LIVE in Copenhagen, Denmark, circa 1992, a sensational experience although I've been to some 600+ concerts since May, 1974 (aged 12) and seen another 400+ artists at festivals in Denmark, Sweden and Germany 1982-2008. I missed the 1998 concert due to a delayed SAS flight from Istanbul to Copenhagen the very same evening, so I really cherish the 1992 concert. I just watched this video of old favourites, at 01:00AM on my laptop here in my room in Cusco, Peru, where I arrived by flight from Arequipa Tuesday night (March 5, 2024) at around 8PM, local time. A big THANK YOU (ARIGATO 🙏) to "Itpstan", and I will watch this again many more times. Hai!👍 /J(orge), Cusco, Peru (Sweden again April 2).🤔
JUST LOVE THE KEYBOARD SOUNDS...NICE EXECUTION . . !!
Nice beefy sound.
Wonderful work and very long, I thought they were female voices, but I came to the conclusion that it was Kitaro who did the voices, I would have done it differently and I was wondering how Kitaro worked to make these mixes and today what resources he would use and what it would be like and do you still sell the mini korg 700s and the 800vd in Japan and how much are they costing each? Thank you very much Itpstan
Hi, thank you for watching this long video! I believe Kitaro still keeps some of his workhorse synthesizers like the 700s, 800dv, vp330, Jupiter 4, Prophet 5, Minimoog, Kurzweil k250, k1200, korg M1, 01/W, to name a few. You can still find the 700s and the 800dv on the secondhand market. It seems that the 700s are costing around USD1800 and above, 800dv is around usd4000 there about. Korg re-issued the 700fs, and I think it would be a good consideration to go for the 700fs as it is new and futureproof.
@@ltpstan Thankyou very much, domouarigatougozaimashita
Does anyone know what those two keyboards are? They look like arranger style with speakers. Would be cool to know. Thanks
Ok looks like they are Korg M3.
@@matrixmirage2699 kitaro uses the Korg M3. However, those keyboards are only Midi controllers. The sounds are in fact from the Kurzweil PX or the Casio FZ1 samples
Thank you so much for recording and sharing this video😊😊😊. I watched it live from youtube.
Tengo años escuchando a Kitaro . . me gusta mucho su musica. . .!!
Adem sx dngernyah... 👌👌👌
Oh my! This is INCREDIBLE!! I just love how painstakingly this sounds like Kitaro's studio recording! This is one of Kitaro's songs I sometimes listen to with noise canceling headphones, because I want to be absorbed into the song. I listened to your recording with my headphones, and it felt just as powerful and absorbing as Kitaro's recording. That is why I really like what you do. I like that you make your covers sound nearly identical, that you admire his sound so much, you work to reproduce the exact same sound. Kitaro is one of the most prolific and dynamic composers I have ever listened to. For someone to break down his most enduring pieces, re-create every tone, sound and nuance, as to be almost indistinguishable from the original, is a mark of pure giftedness!
Thank you! I just find the joy discovering the elements in Kitaro’s music. You could say that my curiosity has led me to recreating his music.
Equipment used?
miniKORG 700FS and Korg 800DV
thats KITARO Music WONDERFULL
This is the song that introduced me to Kitaro and you’ve paid it such great respect.
Thank you hanspecans, I try to keep it as original as possible. Some in studio versions, other in live versions of the piece.
